Ki AikidoShinshin Toitsu Aikido (Ki Aikido) is training in mind-body coordination that uses martial arts, breathing, meditation, and coordination techniques to develop self-control, awareness, and relaxation.
Our practice is open to everyone regardless of physical ability or ability to pay. Many individuals in their 60s and even several in their 70s have successfully started training in Ki Aikido. A positive attitude is more important than physical ability. Classes are structured to allow students to practice in a way that is appropriate for their level and abilities. Training is physically challenging but not harsh.

Soshu Koichi Tohei1920-2011Koichi Tohei Sensei was a student of Morihei Ueshiba (O Sensei) and was the only person he directly and offcially awarded 10th Dan.
Tohei Sensei learned the best way to teach Aikido was through the principles of Mind/Body Unification. However, after facing resistance to adding Ki teachings to Aikikai, he resigned from the position of Chief Instructor of the Aikikai in 1974. Following his resignation, he founded Shinshin Toitsu Aikido to teach Aikido in accordance with Ki principles.
