Testing

The NCKS tests twice a year, in the Spring and Fall. A sign-up sheet is usually posted in the dojo for students interested in taking a test.

Spring testing will take place Saturday, June 6th, 2009
at the Albany Recreation Center from 10 - 11 AM

Candidates should:

  • be a current member of Ki Society
  • be able to perform The Oneness Rhythm Taiso (Relax Taiso)
  • know the techniques and their names for the test rank as well as for their present rank. (It is also good to know them for the next rank)
  • have approval from Maida Sensei.

Ki testing will show your understanding of the four basic principles while Aikido testing will show how well you coordinate this understanding with the physical techniques. The timing for Ki and Aikido Testing is as follows:
