The Shields-Reid Aikido program in Richmond partners with the Center for Human Development, LEAP, and the Richmond Public Library to promote "peaceful resolutions to conflict". In addition to aikido training at the dojo, the facility offers a small library, classes in English as a Second Language and GED preparation classes.  The program promotes family involvement, providing kids and parents opportunity to train together on the mat and parenting classes using ki development training.
